Welcome to Weddin Mountains National Park!
Weddin Mountains National Park is located 20 minutes west of Grenfell.
Weddin Mountains National Park is a crescent-shaped mountain range that can be seen from over 50km away and is steeped in a rich history of Ben Hall and bushrangers.
The Weddin Mountains National Park is home to six different walking tracks:
- Ben Halls Cave Walking Track
- Lynchs Loop Trail
- Berthas Gully Walking Track
- Weddin Gap to Black Spring Loop Trail
- Eualdrie Walking Track
- Basin Gully to Eualdrie Lookout Track
Enjoy the rich history surrounding Weddin Mountains National Park and enjoy a picnic at one of two campsites and picnic areas, the Holy Camp and Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area.
The Weddin Mountains National Park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna as well as one of many caves used as a hideout by Ben Hall and bushrangers that you can visit along you walk through Ben Halls Cave Walking Track.

Let’s Walk Weddin Mountains National Park
Ben Halls Cave Walking Track
1.5km loop, 15 – 45 minutes return
Ben Halls Cave Walking Track is a short walk through open forest that will take you to a cave used by bushranger Ben Hall.
Around the cave entrance you will be rewarded with a view of the country to the west.
Ben Halls Cave Walking Track is located near Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area, as well as Seatons Farm which is a historical site.
Take the opportunity to explore the historic areas near the walking track, stop for a picnic, or extend your trip by taking on another walking track nearby.
Grade 4
Lynchs Loop Trail
2.5km Loop, 1 – 2 hours return
Lynchs Loop Trail is a short trek with steep areas that will see you traverse through open woodlandto the edge of the western escarpment.
At the edge of the escarpment you will be rewarded with views of the plains out towards Forbes.
Take the hike in springtime to enjoy the wide variety of wildflowers in bloom.

Berthas Gully Walking Track
3km, 2 – 3 hours return
Berthas Gully Walking Track is a pleasant walk through the gully on the western side of the Weddin Mountains.
Visit in springtime to enjoy the leisurely walk amongst the variety of wildflowers that call the Weddin Mountains home.
If you enjoy wildlife and birdwatching, the area is also home to superb parrots, kookaburras, and rosellas.

Weddin Gap to Black Spring Loop Trail
23.5km loop, 8 – 12 hour return
Challenge yourself to the Weddin Gap to Black Spring Loop Trail which is the longest hike in the Weddin mountains National Park.
The hike begins where Weddin State Forest meets the national park.
If a full day hike is too much, you can always split the hike over 2 days by setting up camp and enjoying a night outdoors.
the Weddin Gap fire trail is a steep hike that will bring you to Black Spring fire trail and from there to the top of the mountain range.
After you’ve taken time to enjoy the views on offer at the top of the mountain range, continue on along the ridgeline.
Horse riding is permitted on this trail with prior written consent from the local office.

Eualdrie Walking Track
4.8km, 2.5 – 3.5 hours return
Eualdrie Walking Track begins at Holy Camp and takes you to the base of the mountains through heath and woodlands. The track is also located right near Eualdrie Lookout.
From there your scenic walk will take you up a steep climb to Peregrine Lookout where you can enjoy the view across Grenfell.
If you enjoy Australian fauna the area is home to 216 species of animals the vast majority of which are birds. Birdlife in the area include the honeyeater, swift parrot, little lorikeet and turquoise parrot.
Other wildlife in the area include three types of wallaby, one of which is the endangered brush tailed rock wallaby.

Basin Gully to Eualdrie Lookout Track
9km, 6 – 7 hours return
Basin Gully to Eualdrie Lookout Track is a challenging walk that offers a full day out in nature. This walk will take you up to Eualdrie Lookout at the top of the mountain range.
Set out from Ben Halls Campground trek through the gullies and ridges along a marked trail to the lookout.
Along the way you can expect to enjoy views of the plains to Conimbla National Park to the north-east.
If you have an interest in birdwatching you will have the chance to spot wedge-tailed eagles and peregrine falcons among a variety of other birdlife.

Campgrounds, Lookouts, and Points of Interest
Weddin Mountains National Park is steeped in history and offers visitors two campground and picnic areas, two lookouts, and Seatons Farm which is a historic area.
Visitors can walk the tracks and visit either Peregrine Lookout or Eualdrie Lookout, or both during their visit to take in the views.
Visits also have the option of camping or picnicking at either Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area, or Holy Camp which are near the parks walking tracks.

Where to?
From Grenfell, Weddin Mountains National Park is 15.5km to Holy Camp, or 32km to Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area.
From Grenfell, travel on Mary Gilmore Way until you reach Holy Camp Road which leads to Holy Camp.
From Grenfell to Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area take the Mid-Western Highway towards West Wyalong, turn onto Black Piney Range Road and follow the signs. Then turn left into Bimbi State Forest, go through the forest and turn left, and then right into Ben Halls Campground and Picnic Area.
